Last December we released Kite Person’s Tonight We Run, the debut EP by duo Greg Tebbano and Rawhead. It was first, and only, released in digital format from our store. Due to the praise it has garnered and many fans asking for it, we decided to release a hard copy form of the album as a CD. You can now purchase it in our store for $4.99 and enjoy the music in disc form, cheers.

Sev Statik just dropped his new video for “I Believe” feat. Animal Cracker. The track is off of Sev’s Sophy EP which was released back in March of this year and was produced by PJ Katz. The video was shot at Final Word Tattoos in Schenectady by Juan George of Lightsource Media and features a bunch of cameos of 518 Hip Hop artists and friends. Shout out to Final Word Records for coming through for the video.

Rawhead: Dust & Percussion

As Summer is fast approaching, Rawhead just released his new MPC instrumental mix titled Dust & Percussion. The mix features all production from Rawhead, chopped and sampled records along with some Hip Hop samples sprinkled amongst the beats. Mr. Complex: Commercial Rap

Mr. Complex’s new single Commercial Rap is now available for free download on our SoundCloud. The single is Plex’s humorous take on the commercialization of the genre, what new music fans gravitate towards and how diluted it has become. Sprinkle in a bunch of pop cultural references and there you have it. Complex is working on a new album and this is the first of new material from the Queens emcee since his Swiss Chocolate Cake release in early 2012.

Introducing Odisbey

We would like welcome Saratoga based crate-digger and beat maker Odisbey to our roster. Odisbey, having been producing for several years now has been working with area artists on multiple songs and various projects. He was also involved with production on label mate Devin B’s album The Jump, slated for this Spring.

He is also currently working on his first release on Sub-Bombin which will be a beat tape (yes, an actual cassette tape) to be released later this year. We are streaming the first single from the release titled Fusion on our SoundCloud.

Mitochi at the Fuze Box April 25

Mitochi will be heading to Albany on April 25th to perform at The Fuze Box. The night will include other performances by Party Horn, Kloud 9, Rally and Goldeedust. The Fuze Box is located at 12 Central Avenue, and the doors open at 9PM. There will be no cover and there will be drink specials too. Go get your dance on Albany.

I fucking hate interviewing people, mostly because I hate leaving my god damned apartment and mingling with mouth breathing assholes like Del and Tom. Every now and again I find myself compelled to seek out a stranger and try to impress them with my witty bullshit, and if I am lucky accidently brush against their junk on my way to the bar.

My interview with Kite Person was one such case, well kind of, Greg actually snuck by me and palmed my ass, but it was still cool (I haven’t warshed my ass since).

I actually decided to interview Kite Person because their albumTonight We Run is fucking epic. It is a greasy slice of electronic/dance/rock/cry your eyes out/beat one off in nature/and eat your fears style goodness. I was obsessed with it. The way Rawhead and Greg Tebbano fucking double dick my mind, body and soul was enough to make me ring out my god damn fanny pack.

Sev Statik, Moses Rockwell, Hassaan Mackey March 30 at McGeary’s

Sev celebrates the release of his new EP Sophy on March 30th at McGeary’s Irish Pub in downtown Albany. He’ll be performing new tracks on the album and many other Sev classics. Also performing is Moses Rockwell and Mello Music Group’s Hassaan Mackey. DJ Trumastr will be on the decks and Lo-fi Lobo will be hosting as well.

Sev Statik: Sophy EP Free Download Release on March 19

Sophy, the long awaited next EP from Albany emcee Sev Statik, will be released on Tuesday, March 19. The EP is entirely produced by PJ Katz of Pig Food Records. Sophy features the track “I Believe” feat. Animal Cracker and cuts by J-Live. This 5-track gem will be available for free download from the Sub-Bombin site this coming Tuesday and is the lead up to the full length Sev Statik album later this year.

Railbird with Rawhead, Mitochi and Kite Person at Valentine’s March 16th

Rawhead, Mitochi and Kite Person will be joining RAILBIRD at Valentine’s on March 16 for a night of great music and merriment. RAILBIRD recently just played on the Jimmy Kimmel show with Sean Rowe. The show kicks off at 9pm and tickets are $5 in advance and $7 at the door.
