Photos: Capital Coup with Lo-Fi Lobo, November 16

On November 16, some of the Sub-Bombin crew went down to WCDB at University of Albany to Lo-Fi Lobo’s weekly radio show, The Capital Coup. He spoke with Devin B about upcoming projects and live sets by Rawhead, Mitochi and Midas. Cory Makenzie came along to snap photos, and we thank him for these great shots. Enjoy.

Polyrhythm Addicts with Pharoahe Monch

On March 8th, 2012, in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, the official Swiss Chocolate Cake album release party kicked off and kicked off well. The event featured exclusive screenings of Pharohae Monch’s new video with Jill Scott “Still Standing”, as well as Mr. Complex’s “Holy Smokes” music video, followed his short film, “Fanatic”.

Rawhead & Midas later started off the evening in the DJ booth, followed by Brooklyn’s own, Maya Azucena. Next, a set from two Hip Hop legends: Jarobi (ATCQ) & Dres (Black Sheep) who debuted some new tracks off of there upcoming project together and later finished their set with some familiar classics from back in the day.

Shortly after that, Mr. Complex took the stage with his live band and rocked some tracks off of the new album, as well as some Plex classics, joined by El Fudge. Then DJ Crossphada joined him alongside Polyrhythm Addicts members Tiye Phoenix, Shabaam Sahdeeq & Pharoahe Monch to rock the classic “Reachin”.

Big thanks to Drom for the hospitality, and to everybody who had the place packed. It was a very memorable night for us all.
