Ghoul Poon is, as of late, the main alter-ego of Shane Sanchez. Working exclusively on a solo hip hop release for the last decade, Sanchez began to lose focus and dive more and more into DIY experimentation. As of 2007 under the Ghoul Poon alias, he was able to break free from what he felt was a small box of a genre, and self released five EP's and one LP. Under the influence of many innovative experimental musicians such as the Boredoms, Sonic Youth and Destroy All Monsters, the Ghoul Poon releases are hard to pin-point. Sounds vary from spoken word weirdness, blastbeats and sound collages, to experiments with drawn out sounds from toy keyboards and drum machines. A new Ghoul Poon LP is in the near future.
